• How do you begin to submit work?
  • Go to the info and submissions tab at the top. It will guide you through the process of submitting your original work to be considered for the literature magazine.
• What type of work does dinosaur diaries take?
  • We accept persuasive writing, narrative writing, expository writing, and descriptive writing. These all include short stories, historical writings, poetry, fictional, non fiction memoirs, science fiction, fantasy, folktale, slam poetry, opinion pieces, comedies, informative, horror, adventure, romance, mystery, Fairy Tale, Fable, Autobiographies, and biographies.
• How long should my submission be?
  • We ask that your submission be 5 pages or less. It can be a section of a longer piece of writing like a novel, however please only submit the section you wish to be displayed if it is a longer piece.
• How old do I have to be to submit work?
  • We do ask that only elementary schoolers and middle schoolers participate in submissions. This is a safe place for work to be shared among the younger community.
• Is my work guaranteed to be posted on the site?
  • As we are just starting off most all submissions are guaranteed to be included in the literature magazine (this might change). We also do ask that writing stays respectful, as all writing will be reviewed before considered(look below for topics to avoid).
• Are any topics off limits? What writing should you avoid when submitting?
  • We would like to avoid topics that promote harsh language, sexual violence, racism, overly explicit/graphic content, and writings that includes the promotion of discrimination against race, sexuality, gender, identity, religion etc.. Please feel free to write about LGBTQ+, religion, identity, etc. topics but be careful and considerate while writing.
• Can I get feedback on my work?
  • We offer comments in our response but we aim to foster confidence in growing writers first and foremost.
• How will the magazine be distributed?
  • For now, the issues will be available online. The first issue will be digital, but we hope to print in the future. We will also email everyone who submitted when the issue comes out.
• Will there be a grammar check?
  • We will not be in charge of fixing or correcting your grammar, please ask a guardian or teacher to review your work before submissions. Thank you!
